i feel so empty here in a brown grass wasteland, surrounded by sky
buildings out of place at the foot of the hill softly reflect the light
a tired cyberpunk city, weathered but still looking new
pastel colored buildings, and glass in shades of gray and blue
this place wasn't meant for people
it was meant for hills it was meant for ghosts
the clouds consume the bridges
and drift along the coast
i follow the city streets on the skateboard i brought from home
some people are out but the town feels empty in the morning, i'm alone
i glide down the hill, towards the bay in the distance, restless and free
past the people who sleep on the streets, and through the shade of the trees
this place wasn't meant for people
it was meant for hills it was meant for ghosts
the clouds consume the bridges
and drift along the coast
you can only stay until you almost feel at home
so i was only here for a day
the new paved sidewalk below my skateboard
couldn't have felt more far away
soft, chilling winds blow across the pier
to announce the bay's hostility
crumbling concrete holds back the waves
to keep this place from drowning in the sea
